Loose diamond certification and grading is based on the “Four Cs” of diamond qualities. The most important characteristic to understand when making a diamond purchase is cut, colour, clarity and carat weight. 

The first C refers to the cut of the diamond and it is the most important because it has the most influence on the diamond’s sparkle. A diamond’s cut refers to how well-proportioned the dimensions of a diamond are and it assesses the light performance of a diamond by looking at proportions, polish and symmetry. It shows how these are positioned to create brilliance.

The second C refers to the colour of the diamond. Diamonds come in a variety of colours from colourless diamonds to faint colour diamonds. D-colour diamonds are the highest grade and it is extremely rare. All our loose diamonds have been assigned a colour grade by the GIA standards.  The next C is clarity. This Is the quality of diamonds that relates to the existence and visual appearance of internal characteristics. It is the assessment of small imperfections on the surface and within the stone. The last C refers to carat. It refers to a diamond’s weight, not its size.
